Received lovely Christmas presents from Andrew since 2010 - gift card at Oliver & Bonacini restaurants. Since I forgot to enjoy the 2010 present, I have the opportunity for enjoying two wonderful Winterlicious meals by spending the two gift cards this year.
This year's Winterlicious in Toronto ran from Jan 27th to February 9th, the event had over 100 participating Toronto restaurants that dazzled visitors with their 3 course culinary creations. To fully take advantage of the two gift cards, I decided to book dinners at Auberge Du Pommier and Biff’s Bistro.

Biff's Bistro is located in central Toronto downtown area, one and a half blocks east of Union Station and two blocks south of King Station using the subway.

The inside of the restaurant was dimly lit, those food photo were taken with an on camera flash and lights the food from the front. The lighting made the food look flat and boring, and didn't present the beautiful color, texture and shape of the dishes.
Mixed Organic Greens
with Blue cheese & winter radish.
A beautiful mix of from-the-ground fresh greens, the vinaigrette adds a fresh taste as well as nutritional boost , blue cheese adds a richness and elegance, all in all to make this a great starter.


Skin Roasted Arctic Char
with Lentilles du Puy & preserved lemon. Very tasty, rich flavour, I love this dish!


Medjool Date Cake
The brandy toffee and lemon Chantilly adds very rich flavor to the cake. Although the cake was a bit tough maybe due to storage? This dessert was tasty.

Cured Albacore Tuna
with Biff's pickles & harissa aioli
A very tasty flavorful starter, although it doesn't look pretty...


Boudin Noir
with semoule & Gruyere. A bit exotic, not a big fan for this dish.
The presentation was unique, although it made me think about a black garbage bag sitting on some broken cabages... :)

rainbow trout, brown butter almonds, red grapes, braised cabbage, tasting of cauliflower

hot chocolate, marshmallow mousse, French cruller
